Since the age of two, as far back as Peter Byers can remember he talked to the Lord daily and was having encounters with God's presence. Peter always knew that he was going to be a minister when he grew up. Although he did not express this publicly until he was 9 years old. Peter heard the gospel for the first time when he was 13 and he excepted Jesus into his heart immediately. From that point on Peter was given an unusual hunger to seek God.

 While at a prayer meeting at age 13 Peter saw his first vision. He saw the resurrected Christ like he is pictured in Revelation 1:12-16. The Lord was looking down at him smiling. That year two different healing evangelists also prophesied over him. They prophesied that he was going to be an evangelist when he grew up. He was also warned that someone was going to come into his life that could cause him to fall away.

 At age 15 Peter started to backslide. He got into drugs, left home at age 16 and lived a very rebellious lifestyle. The day he ran away, his mother was crying out to God and an angel appeared who told her, not to worry because Peter is going to be all right.

 In 1981 just before Peter turned 20 he had a visitation of the Lord’s presence. Peter felt the Lord's love all around him. The Lord spoke to him and said, "Peter in spite of the fact that you rejected me and ran away from the call of God on your life I still love you". Peter completely broke down crying and gave his life back to the Lord.

 One year later Peter made a decision that he wanted the cross and he was instantaneously filled with the Holy Spirit. The following year he seriously committed himself to seeking God a minimum of one hour a day. From that point his prayer life and hunger for God greatly increased. The Holy Spirit also began to lead him supernaturally in every area of his life.

 In 1983 Peter received a vision where he saw himself walking down the street and the Spirit of God came upon him in compassion and power. In the vision he was compelled to preach the gospel. As he preached the people all around him fell to their knees repenting and were being healed everywhere. Since then the Holy Spirit has come upon him in public places like He did in the vision. Peter would be compelled with the Lord's compassion to preach the gospel on the streets. This has resulted in seeing hundreds of people getting saved, healed, and delivered supernaturally by the power of God. Peter believes that this is an apostolic anointing similar to what Peter the Apostle experienced in the book of Acts that is going to come upon the end time church.

 Being led by the Holy Spirit, Peter continued to get further training to fulfill the call of God on his life. He went to be trained at Eastern Pentecostal Bible College (1983-1986) where he led the street outreach ministries. Then he was a student along with Michelle (his future wife) at Queensway Cathedral’s Missions Institute (1987-1988). After which both Peter and Michelle became part of their leadership team that led teams overseas from the Institute.

 Both Peter and Michelle saw thousands of people come to Jesus through the Missions Institutes teams they participated on. They went to Africa and Asia doing crusades, dramatical presentations of the gospel, school assemblies, showing the Jesus film, smuggling Bibles, preaching in prisons, from house to house, in church meetings and out on the streets.

 In 1988 the Lord spoke to Peter to strategically equip the body of Christ in evangelism and intercession to possess the land at home and abroad. In 1991 the Lord sovereignty directed him to join Youth With A Mission. Peter went to Youth With A Mission Discipleship Training School and then to their School of Evangelism. The Lord had uniquely gifted Peter as a Prophetic Evangelist but he also wanted him to be part of a much larger mission that was global in scale. While this was all happening Michelle (his future wife) became a missionary in the Philippines. This was while they were only friends.

 In 1992 the Lord spoke to Peter in a dream about marrying his good friend Michelle. They later fell in love and married in 1993. Together as a team they were totally committed to obeying the Holy Spirit in taking the gospel to the nations. Shortly after they were married Peter came on part time staff at an inner city church in Hamilton with a one-year commitment to help them evangelistically.

 In 1994 the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship dramatically touched Peter. In a personal visitation that lasted four and a half weeks, the Holy Spirit violently shook Peter night and day with the power of God and he received daily open visions, dreams and divine encounters with the Lord and angels. While this was going on Peter would simply look at people and the Lord would show him things about them. He would walk into a room and he would receive prophetic revelation on everyone there. This was a divine season where the Lord was downloading prophetic anointing.

 In 1994 Peter was invited to be an intern at Metro Christian Fellowship by Mike Bickle www.ihop.org in Kansas City USA. This was such a Godsend because Peter was having prophetic experiences that were far beyond his ability to understand or interpret. By the grace of God he not only had the opportunity to serve Metro evangelistically during that season, but also was trained and mentored to walk in the prophetic anointing that the Lord was pouring upon his life.

 Peter is not only called to be an evangelist but he is also called to be a prophet. He has been taught with sound biblical instruction from seasoned prophets and by the Holy Spirit himself to be very sensitive and completely obedient to Holy Spirit so that he can minister with great accuracy to churches and individuals.

 Peter has helped churches of many different streams develop fresh and new evangelism strategies. His ministry has been based in Canada, the USA and England. He has been involved in outreaches to over 10 nations and lead in citywide campaigns that have resulted in seeing many people saved on the streets through prophetic and power evangelism.

 In 2004 the Lord gave Peter the privilege of leading a city wide outreach in Toronto Canada for Todd Bentley’s ministry www.FreshFireUSA.com which saw over 600 people except Jesus on the streets as a result of prophetic and power evangelism. As of August 2010 Peter is now an associate minister of Revival Canada Christian Ministries we are working alongside Charlie Robinson and his son Samuel. We believe the Lord has given us a strategy to see spiritual awakening across Canada. It involves strategic prayer with houses of prayer across the nation, equipping and mobilising believers into prayer, prophetic, power and strategic evangelism and regional awakening events with signs and wonders following.
